A First Look Back from MipSyCon 2025

SynchroGrid was thrilled to make our first appearance at the Minnesota Power Systems Conference, held November 4–6, 2025, in Saint Paul, MN. From live demos of our Setting Automation Relay Assistant (SARA) to engaging discussions on the future of power system protection, the conference was full of energy, innovation, and collaboration.
Visitors to Booth #226 had the opportunity to see SARA in action, led by Lead Software Engineer Luke Hankins, who delivered comprehensive demonstrations showcasing the software’s powerful capabilities. Attendees explored how SARA automates complex relay setting calculations, integrates seamlessly with industry-standard tools like CAPE and ASPEN, streamlines compliance, and reduces engineering workloads. This not only enhances accuracy and minimizes errors but also saves valuable engineering time and resources.
In addition to SARA, our team shared insights into our full range of consulting services, including relay setting development, wide area coordination, and NERC PRC compliance support. These discussions highlighted how SynchroGrid helps utilities optimize protection coordination, improve system reliability, and maintain regulatory compliance.
It was inspiring to connect with so many professionals driving the future of reliable, efficient, and compliant power systems. The enthusiasm and expertise of attendees made our first year at MipSyCon especially memorable.
A special thank you to the University of Minnesota for hosting such a well-organized and impactful event. We’re proud to have participated and contributed to this vibrant power systems community.
