SARA 3.4.1 is Live!

SynchroGrid is excited to announce the official release of SARA 3.4.1, featuring powerful enhancements across the Transmission Line and Wide Area Coordination modules. This release delivers expanded capabilities, improved navigation, and key fixes to boost productivity and performance.

 

What’s New in SARA 3.4.1

Transmission Line Module Enhancements

  • Flexible Setting Cards

    Users can now add separate cards with the same setting name for different relays, improving flexibility in relay configuration.

  • Voltage Input for Faults

    Fault creation now includes voltage input fields, enabling more precise modeling and analysis.

  • Contingency Management with Justification

    Fault contingencies can now be removed directly from the Calculated Variables and Relay Settings tabs, with user-provided justifications for traceability.

 

Wide Area Coordination (WAC) Enhancements

  • Expanded Constraint Study Options

    Support for Z3 and Z4 zones has been added to constraint studies, along with forward/reverse reach selection.

  • New Test Fault Options

    Reach Comparison and Line-End faults can now be selected during WAC test fault studies.

  • Enhanced Filtering

    Users can filter by remote bus at each terminal during the initial WAC study run, streamlining analysis of large systems.

  • Violation Flag Functionality

    Equation studies now include violation flagging for better visibility into study issues.

  • N-2 Contingency Support

    SARA now supports N-2 contingencies within WAC studies, expanding study depth and system reliability checks.

 

Usability & Interface Improvements

  • Navigation & Layout Upgrades

    Zoom In/Out buttons have been added to the status bar. Frequently used buttons such as “Change OLR,” “Back to Dashboard,” ‘Add Comment,” and “Confirm Setting” have been repositioned for quicker access.

  • Fault Visualization Improvements

    The Calculated Variables tab and “Show All Faults” window now include the Fault Display Name and Voltage for easier fault identification.

  • Enhanced Feedback & Progress Indicators

    Project progress bars now provide more detailed feedback, and new visual cues clarify unresolved issues during study confirmation.
