Driving the Future of Protection Engineering at Georgia Tech 2026

SynchroGrid’s participation in this year’s Georgia Tech Protective Relaying Conference once again reinforced our commitment to advancing protection engineering through automation, standardization, and practical innovation.
Representing our team this year were Marissa Simonelli, Technical Business Manager; Luke Hankins, Product Manager; and Abram Krislock, Senior Software Engineer. Throughout the week, they connected with engineers and utility professionals for in-depth discussions and live demonstrations of SARA, our automation platform designed to modernize coordination studies and relay setting development. Attendees saw firsthand how SARA integrates seamlessly with both ASPEN and CAPE, helping teams reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and increase confidence in their protection workflows.
Our exhibit space became a gathering point for meaningful dialogue around wide area coordination, relay settings development, and evolving NERC compliance requirements. Beyond the demos, the most valuable moments came from the conversations, sharing real-world challenges, comparing approaches, and exploring how technology can better support protection engineers in an increasingly complex grid environment.
We are grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with industry peers, build new relationships, and contribute to discussions shaping the future of system protection. Each year, Georgia Tech provides a forum not just for showcasing tools, but for strengthening the professional community that keeps the grid reliable.
If you missed us at the conference, you can still schedule a SARA demo today at https://synchrogrid.com/contact/. We look forward to connecting with you and until next year, Atlanta!
