Building a Career in Power Systems

We are excited to welcome Michael Hesseltine to SynchroGrid as an Engineer I!
Michael joins our team with a strong foundation in electrical engineering and a passion for power systems. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Systems Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University, along with minors in Engineering Project Management and Cybersecurity.
Michael’s interest in engineering began at a young age through a fascination with technology. After building his first computer at 14 years old, he developed a growing curiosity about how electrical systems work and the role they play in powering modern life. That interest eventually led him to pursue a career in electrical engineering, where he became particularly drawn to the power industry.
What excites Michael most about the power industry is its importance to everyday life and the incredible scale of the systems that keep the world running. Through his academic and internship experiences, he developed a strong appreciation for the ingenuity behind power system design and the technical depth required to support reliable electrical infrastructure.
Before joining SynchroGrid, Michael gained valuable experience through internships and co-op assignments across a variety of industries. His background includes working with Bath Group, supporting clients in the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors; serving as a Project Engineer Co-op with GAF; contributing to power system design projects with Exyte; and supporting capital projects as an Electrical Engineering Intern with Celanese. These experiences provided him with exposure to diverse engineering environments and reinforced his interest in power systems.
Michael was drawn to SynchroGrid because of the opportunity to work on meaningful power system projects in a consulting environment where he could continue learning and growing as an engineer. He is especially excited about contributing to project work, expanding his technical knowledge, and making a positive impact on the company and its clients.
One of Michael’s greatest strengths is his ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams. He understands the importance of developing deep technical expertise while also building a broad understanding of the teams and disciplines that contribute to successful projects.
Originally from Sinton, Texas, just outside Corpus Christi, Michael enjoys baking, cooking, watching Aggie football, and camping when he is away from work.
We are excited to welcome Michael Hesseltine to the SynchroGrid team and look forward to the knowledge, enthusiasm, and perspective he brings to our organization.
