SARA 3.9.0 Is Now Available

This release moves SARA to a new licensing service that is more reliable and causes fewer interruptions in automated workflows. With the switch, every user will receive a new license key. Current keys will keep working through December 31, 2026, so plan to upgrade to 3.9.0 before then.

SARA 3.9.0 also adds new T-Line, WAC, and CTI capabilities, plus auto-backup and a round of fixes. Please update at your earliest convenience.

PRC-026 check in T-Line

The Settings Calibration tab now verifies relay performance during stable power swings. You can confirm PRC-026 compliance while you calibrate settings instead of after.

New features

  • CTI: Time Overcurrent (TOC) is now a valid coordination type for CTI studies.
  • T-Line: You can now run the settings development workflow for zero-length lines.
  • WAC: You can now run a freeform equations study by branch instead of a specific relay.
  • Export to RDB: You can now choose which group to export settings from.
  • Faults: A new “Remote End” option simulates the fault as if the local and remote ends of the current branch are flipped.
  • Auto-Backup: SARA now backs up project and template files, so you can recover them after a crash.

 

Usability improvements

  • WAC template editor shows SARA Dictionary values on hover.
  • WAC Dashboard loads faster, and aggregate reports generate faster.
  • WAC lists relays omitted from reach comparison studies because they are set to OFF.
  • WAC handles errors when you change the auto-solve .stl link for equations studies.
  • T-Line gives a clearer message for testing points when a relay is missing required elements.

 

Bug fixes

  • T-Line: Fault overrides no longer disappear when you change a user variable.
  • T-Line: Relay variables now appear when used only in a flag.
  • T-Line: CTI configuration changes now save in the T-Line template.
  • T-Line: Deleting a relay in the relay manager no longer crashes SARA when a card depended only on that relay.
  • WAC: The slider now matches the setting when Auto-Solve can’t find a solution.
  • WAC: Auto-Solve no longer suggests settings outside valid ranges.
  • WAC: CTI studies no longer open to a blank screen.
  • WAC: The Dashboard now loads when all constraints trigger skip conditions.
  • WAC: The CTI visual no longer shows violations after you resolve them all.

Launch SARA. A pop-up will appear with a direct link to the download page.
