Powering the Future at Texas A&M Protective Relay Conference

Join SynchroGrid at the Texas A&M Annual Conference for Protective Relay Engineers on March 31st to April 3rd!

We’re excited to connect with industry professionals and showcase how our consulting services and innovative software solutions are setting new standards in relay protection. SynchroGrid will be actively participating in the conference through a pre-conference seminar, paper presentation, and by exhibiting at our booth.

Pre-Conference Seminar

March 31st | 9:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. | Memorial Student Center Room 2404

Seminar Schedule:

  • 9:30 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.: Start your day with breakfast tacos
  • 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.: Presentations on Automation & Standardization

The seminar will kick off with an introduction to OlxAPI for data gathering and fault analysis in ASPEN OneLiner, covering both fundamentals and advanced scripting techniques. Attendees will receive ready-to-use scripts on a USB drive.

Next, we’ll explore the critical role of model validation before any new settings project or coordination study. Learn how our automation innovations can identify modeling errors and streamline relay setting updates across the grid.

We’ll conclude with a deep dive into Wide Area Coordination under NERC PRC-027-1, where we’ll share best practices, lessons learned, and powerful automation tools that simplify compliance and enhance system reliability.

Paper Presentation

April 3rd | 9:10 A.M. – 9:45 A.M. | Memorial Student Center Room 2406A

Don’t miss our paper presentation titled “Automating NERC PRC-027-1 Compliance: A Comprehensive Approach to Large-Scale Protection System Coordination.”

This paper builds on previous work in System Protection Software interoperability and focuses on implementing NERC PRC-027-1 for protection system coordination. Key highlights include:

  • An automated approach to managing large-scale coordination studies by segmenting service territories and voltage levels
  • Updating models, conducting coordination reviews, and performing deep analyses to handle data complexity
  • Exploring compliance challenges, relay setting philosophies, and process improvements
  • Integration with NERC Maintenance schedules to streamline workflows, improve reliability, and optimize resources
