SynchroGrid aided a client in conducting engineering calculations for multiple coal and gas generators situated throughout the United States, ensuring that their relay settings conform to the standards outlined in PRC-019-2 and PRC-024-2.
The process consisted of the following steps:
- Examined the relay one-line or three-line diagrams and associated relay settings for all stations to guarantee optimal system dependability.
- Conducted calculations and generating visual representations such as graphs to validate that the relay settings conform to the specified standard.
- Recommended alterations to the settings of non-compliant relays to enhance their efficiency.
- Prepared compliance reports for each relevant standard to ensure preparation for NERC audits.
- Developed automated relay setting reports for simplified compliance reporting.
