SynchroGrid’s History

Centrally located in the heart of Texas, SynchroGrid is an engineering firm that offers electric utilities a wide range of innovative, professional solutions in system protection for generation, transmission, and distribution systems.

The company was founded by Joe Perez in 2012. Joe graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in electrical engineering and worked in utility and manufacturing before starting his own company. These experiences provided Joe with a unique, holistic view of the power industry. With an original focus on design and relay settings, Joe saw opportunities for increased efficiency in the engineers’ workflow and soon added a software team to automate system protection processes. SynchroGrid now has a sister software company—SynchroSoft—that focuses on improving procedures through research and the customization of automation solutions for the power industry.

Overall, SynchroGrid’s development embodies how we approach every project—a commitment to quality work and a focus on innovation that seek to streamline, standardize, and optimize power system processes with the ultimate goal of increasing the reliability of the power grid.

Joe Perez

CEO and Founder

Joe Perez, P.E., has been in the protection industry for nearly 20 years. Having spent time in the utility, manufacturing, and consulting fields, he recognized the inefficiency of the current processes for developing drawings and relay settings, which made them highly prone to error. Joe founded SynchroGrid in 2012 and, soon after, started the subsidiary company, SynchroSoft, which focuses on developing and customizing automation solutions for the power industry. He received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University in 2003, and he has authored and presented numerous technical papers at major relay conferences across the United States.
