SynchroGrid designed the replacement of reactor relays GE T60 and SEL 487E-0 to be replaced with SEL-387E and SEL-487E-3 relays respectively at Gray substation by making appropriate modifications to drawings, relay settings, GOOSE communication files, and reports.

The process involved the following:

  • Updating the control schematics and drawings – relay one-lines, three-lines, communication interconnection drawings, terminal block and wiring diagrams
  • Creation of relay settings for SEL-387E relays to coordinate, replacing GE-T60 relays
  • Creation of relay settings for SEL-487E-3 relays to coordinate, replacing SEL-487E-0 relays
  • Updating the architect file to coordinate GOOSE communications between relays
