Viswalekha Kurapati has joined SynchroGrid's team as a Relay Setting Engineer

We are happy to announce that Viswalekha (Viswa) Kurapati has joined the SynchroGrid team as a Relay Settings Engineer. Viswa brings over five years of solid experience in relay setting development and wide area coordination studies. At SynchroGrid, she will focus on developing relay settings and implementing wide area coordination studies using ASPEN and CAPE, helping clients comply with the PRC-027-1 requirements.

Viswa previously worked for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) as a project engineer, focusing on wide area coordination studies using CAPE software for Southern California Edison. At SEL, she also had the opportunity to work in other areas such as protection and control drawing design, IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging protocol for fast bus schemes, and arc flash studies. Additionally, she created on-site testing procedures for relay testing equipment.

Viswa has also worked for Duke Energy, performing coordination studies for transmission and distribution systems with ASPEN OneLiner. While at Duke, she created new and revised relay settings for SEL and electro-mechanical relays. In addition, Viswa worked with protection and control drawings, metering, and arc flash studies.

Viswa earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University at Buffalo in 2014. She is excited to be part of such an innovative company and is ready to make an impact.
